Miroslav Petkov started playing trumpet in 2000, studing at the National school of arts “Dobry Hristov” and graduated in 2007.

CLASSICAL MUSIC
Between 2001 and 2008 Miroslav Petkov recieved the 1st Prize @ III National competition, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria (2001), the 1st Prize-XVIII National competition “Svetoslav Obretenov”(2002), the 1st Prize @ VI International academic competition “Yaroslav Kolarj” (2003), the special prize @ III National competition “Dobri Hristov” (2004). In 2004 he attended a master class by Jean-Bernard Beauchamp. Miroslav Petkov recieved the 1st Prize @ X International competition for music of Czech and Slovakian composer (2005), the 1st Prize @ IV International Competition “Young Virtuosos” and the 1st Prize @ II du Festival International lumineux des Arts “Le Paon Lumineux” (2006), the 1st Prize @ IV International Competition “Young Virtuosos”, “Varna Award” for successes achieved in the field of art “Musician of the Year” with the Ensemble “Ars barocca” (2007). In 2008 he continued his study with Max Sommerhalder and participated at a master classes by Gábor Tarkövi (first trumpet at the Berlin Philharmonic). at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, Germany. In 2009 Miroslav won the 1st Prize at the 2009 YAMAHA International Trumpet Contest in Hamburg in the category “Classical Professionals”. As solist he performed in recitals and as a soloist with the Varna Symphony Orchestra, Bulgaria, Shumen Symphony Orchestra, Bulgaria, City Orchestra of Sofia, Bulgaria, “Simphonietta”Ochechestra, Varna, Bulgaria, Detmold Kammer Orchestra.

JAZZ AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Besides his Classical education and performances, Miroslav Petkov works with various formations from the jazz, pop and electronic music scene. He performed with Jazzprofilactika (2007-2009), Spontanic Quartet (Ethno-Jazz, 2008-2009), with Milcho Leviev (2009), Evolution Band (live-house, 2007-2009), with Lili Ivanova (2008), DGTL Bulgar (2009) and several Big Bands and Jazz formations in Germany. In 2008 Miroslav joined DJazz project and has become an key-member of this project.

Without doubt we can say Miroslav Petkov is the most multi-talented / diverse musician of this project.
